LittleBIG Gift Guide

This blog was written by the clever and kind Casey Giliberto, Marketing Assistant.

Firstly, how is Christmas only a week-ish away? After such a “sluggish” year it really crept up on us in a surprising way.

In the midst of navigating our way through a ‘COVID normal’ and getting organised for the holiday season, we thought we share with you some of our top picks for Christmas gifts and prep (if you’re anything like us there’s still a lot more shopping to do!) this year and showcase some of our incredible clients and campaigns we launched in 2020 along the way. There’s a little something for everybody including the seemingly impossible to buy for males in the family!

Christmas Prep

Preston Market

Do like a Prestonian and visit Preston Market traders to get sorted for Christmas Day with fresh seafood, deli meats, and Christmas roasts.

Queen Victoria Market

You’ll find everything you need at Queen Vic including all the trimmings for your ultimate Christmas Day feast as well as handmade clothing and jewellery and other uniquely Melbourne gifts. And if you can’t get to the Market, don’t forget you can now shop online through Queen Vic Market Online with same-day delivery to more than 150 Melbourne suburbs.

Otway Pork

Otway Pork Christmas Hams are a tradition in the littleBIG office. If you’re hosting Christmas lunch, these guys have you sorted. They’ve partnered up with The Food Purveyor and put together some beautiful Christmas ham-pers featuring Otway Pork ham, puddings, snacks and treats – taking all of the pressure and stress out of hosting.

Brown Family Wine Group

Forget the French Champagne and support Australian wine producers by drinking quality Aussie sparkling this Christmas. Tassie specialists (and our friends) Pirie have a range of three including Australia’s most awarded NV but there’s also a Sparkling Vintage 2013 and a Sparkling Vintage Rosé 2016.

If a red or white is more your style, then sip on Tamar Ridge’s smooth Pinots or Devil’s Corner’s new summery Pinot Noir Rosé – described by head winemaker Tom Wallace as a drinkable version of Harry Styles’ ‘Watermelon Sugar.’ For top picks, littleBIG resident somme Jarryd Pentony recommends Devil’s Corner’s Resolution Riesling as the perfect seafood pairing or Brown Brothers’ Refreshingly Light Sauvignon Blanc for those not wanting to overindulge.

The best part? Visit www.brownbrothers.com.au to build your Christmas wine pack from all brands.

Gift Guide

Grampians Tourism

It’s always been important to us to support small and local businesses within Australia, and even more so this year. In recent months we’ve seen our ‘Host With The Most’ campaign for Grampians Tourism come to life, encouraging locals to invite their friends and relatives to enjoy a regional Victoria escape in their ‘hood. Wherever you live, giving a slice of the Grampians is a sure-fire hit. Gift the family a voucher for a stay or experience and discover the many, many, incredible sites to see in the region including lakes, waterfalls, wineries, farm stays, B&B’s and an all-time fam fave – Halls Gap Zoo.

Hot tip: Check out the Regional Travel Voucher Scheme and register for a $200 voucher to spend on accommodation!

Innocent Bystander

For all the wine lovers… Our friends at Innocent Bystander have the perfect wine gift packs, ideal for enjoying at your pre-Chrissy get together or NYE celebrations, or gifting. We have our eyes on the Pamper Pack.

Melbourne Cocoa

These guys are the bomb when it comes to Christmas gifting whether it be for KK, colleagues, friends or relatives. We’re obsessed with the packaging, and completely addicted to their range of Christmas Puddings, Chocolate Truffles, Honeycomb and the list goes on… Gift Vouchers are always a safe option, especially if you’re not sure what your KK is in to.

Bruce Apparel

We have loved supporting our friends at Bruce, fitting in the year we have just had as they’re about driving more open conversation around men’s mental wellbeing. They make apparel for blokes who move – an ethically produced and sustainable range of men’s activewear.

No doubt, the men in our families are always the most difficult to buy for. I mean, if your male relatives are anything like mine – they have already gone ahead and bought the things they asked for this Christmas. Talk about impatient!

Erstwilder

Unique, quirky vintage-style jewellery and collectables, forever bringing back nostalgic feelings with their gorgeous brooches, necklaces, earrings and enamel pins. An online gift voucher is a no brainer for any loved ones who tend towards the whimsical.

Fyna Foods/Wizz Fizz

Stocking fillers! Wizz Fizz Sherbet and giant Liquorice wheels are two staple stocking filler items. Fyna Foods has a wide range of fun and Fizzalicious treats perfect for gift giving.

YOI

Enjoy traditional authentic Indonesian dishes from YOI with their limited-edition Christmas and New Year hamper. With Nasi Liwet, Javanese lemongrass & turmeric chicken, grilled spareribs and fried noodles take delight in bold flavours, intense spices and soulful, dishes this festive season.

Plant Science

Kick-start your 2021 New Year’s resolution by getting your gut health in check over the summer break. The Plant Science team has just launched their first product Gut-Feeling: The world’s first hemp-based prebiotic gut health powder. Full of fibre, protein, antioxidants, anti-inflammatories and lots of other benefits, it’s our go-to morning breakfast smoothie – seriously, it’s delicious. Try it!
