Last Friday August 31st, the LBMPR team brought Federation Square to life with all the sights and smells of Victoria’s longest running municiple markets for 400 minutes of fun to ring in Market Week 2012.

The Queen Victoria, South Melbourne and Prahran Markets have been in operation for a whopping 400 years in total, offering Victorians the best their local producers have to offer. They all came together in the iconic Melbourne space with a mini market, free BBQ, food tastings and of course – massive produce giveaways.

After a rocky start to the day involving cold, grey and rainy weather, the clouds parted and stars aligned for us and provided a stunning, sunny day to see off winter and introduce spring in Melbourne.

Thank you to everyone who came to lend a helping hand and everyone else who took part in the milestone, a fabulous day was had by all. Market Week 2012 runs until Sunday September 9th. To find out what is happening at your market visit
