Last Thursday, the Cecil St @ South Melbourne Market restaurant precinct was launched with much fanfare and merriment, featuring fresh, flavoursome cuisine from around the world and great live music.  littleBig had the pleasure of inviting and hosting the media contingent, a happy bunch of 50 or so eager foodies.

Guests were invited to take part in a progressive dinner, featuring five different restaurants. The evening kicked off at the LG kitchen with drinks and yum cha from Linx BBQ and Yum Cha. Guests enjoyed spring rolls, dumplings and roast pork dishes (to name a few).

Next up it was Simply Spanish where guests were treated to an authentic paella, lamb cutlets and breaded prawns.

Next stop on the list was Köy. The restaurant was filled to the brim with punters but that didn’t stop the kitchen from sending out delicious goodies such as Gozleme and Manti.

The Italian Brasserie served bruschetta, meatballs and calamari.  Bellissima!

Last on the list was Renan Goksin’s Claypots Evening Star where satisfied diners gathered for a drink and soaked up the jovial atmosphere.

No longer is South Melbourne Market just a daytime destination.  Cecil St @ South Melbourne Market is a buzzing restaurant precinct with live music and a delicious variety of food and tipple on offer.  Finally, a dining destination (or five) in South Melbourne!  Do yourself a favour…
